How can pharmacology be applied to  inhibit myopic growth in ways suitable for use in humans?

Dilute topical atropine, applied daily, remains the only widely used myopia control treatment yet there also remain many unanswered questions related to its ocular site of action (retina, choroid & sclera are all on the table), and optimal dosing routine. These issues are under investigation along with new lines of research exploring to potential application of intraocular pressure (IOP) lowering drugs.
